SELCO Foundation is an open source, not for profit organization that engages in field-based R&D and ecosystem building for deployment of clean energy solutions that alleviate poverty in tribal, rural and urban poor areas. The organization works in collaboration with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs, NGOs from various developmental sectors and educational institutions to link the benefits of sustainable energy to poverty eradication. The organization works across verticals such as energy access, health, livelihoods with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs and partners from various developmental sectors.

SELCO aims to transform the efficiency of Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) initiatives towards poverty alleviation. It recognizes and is building on the potential of Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) to develop scalable and inclusive solutions.

The Role:

SELCO Foundation is looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about working in the development sector with focus on providing access to sustainable energy and livelihoods for last mile communities in Manipur. The broader goal is to use decentralized renewable energy to facilitate dignified living, increased incomes, reduced drudgery and improved work productivity through the integration of climate inclusive technologies into livelihood practices for the underserved communities in Manipur.

The Field coordinator is expected to coordinate, consolidate and ensure establishment of linkages among the local ecosystem partners and smooth implementation of projects on ground in order to provide access to sustainable energy driven technologies to enhance essential services under livelihoods. Understanding of Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) and its integration within productive use technologies will be primary while catering to the underserved communities.

Key responsibilities for the position:
• Supervising and supporting the ground level ecosystem partners as well as field based teams as the case may be.
• Facilitating, coordinating and supervising end to end implementation of projects on the ground.
• Establishing a mechanism to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the field activities and greater coordination and information sharing internally as well as among the relevant stakeholders.
• Understanding the local communities in Manipur, developing a rapport and building trust with end-users on ground for smooth implementations and wider uptake.
• Organizing training and workshops for end users and stakeholders for pre and post implementation capacity creation.
• Supervising data collection, monitoring on ground project activities and preparing timely and accurate
• Project Progress Reports in consultation with the project teams.
• Liaising with local Manipur authorities and stakeholders as needed to facilitate achievement of project objectives.
• Coordinating project resources (workforce, time and other inputs) as planned and maintaining periodic interactions with the project team to realize the activities.
• Using the allocated budget properly for the project implementations and proposing revision in the project budget and action plan based on field conditions if necessary.
• Mobilizing the necessary work force on ground to ensure that all project implementations are achieved at high quality.
• Regularly assessing performance, needs and gaps during project implementations and facilitating corrective measures as required.
• Ensuring organizational, implementation processes and guidelines are adhered to and escalating in cases where required.

Who can apply:
• Minimum of 1year of work experience in the development sector especially having the know-how of working on the field with different types of entities.
• Based out of Manipur or experience working in Manipur with good understanding about grassroots communities, languages, livelihood practices etc. will be preferred.
• Interest in solar energy DRE driven technologies and project implementations aimed at improving energy reliability and quality of life for underserved communities.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and non-verbal.
• Willingness to learn, grow and develop at personal and professional front, at a rapid pace with a steep learning curve.
• Willingness to travel extensively within and outside the State as and when required.
