JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Cloud Engineer
Location: Accra
JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to join our company in Ghana. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with our development team to ensure that our cloud services are highly available, secure, and scalable to support our growing business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the design and deployment of scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
• Implement and maintain automated deployment and testing pipelines using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and development teams on best practices for cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI-DSS, ISO 27001-2013 and GDPR
• Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting systems using tools like CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or Prometheus
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 availability of critical services
• Continuously evaluate new cloud technologies and provide recommendations on adoption and implementation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement technical solutions that meet business requirements
• QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least five (5) years of experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure in AWS
• Strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
• Extensive experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
• Proficient in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring and alerting systems such as CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or Prometheus
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers.
