Job Description: The right candidate will have extensive chocolate manufacturing experience, and be capable of building the technical capacity of a young, ambitious chocolate team already in place. The position will report to the Beyond Good COO, based in Madagascar, and will lead new product development and chocolate manufacturing.
Major Responsibilities
• Provide technical leadership to the current AMCHO (chocolate factory) team to deepen their knowledge and broaden their exposure to best practices in chocolate making, while enabling the factory to double the factory output annually for the next 2-years.
• Co-develop recipes with the New Product Development team and continuously refine the industrial processes to develop the flavor and produce with batch-to-batch consistency.
• Ensure the quality control systems are adequate for the products, volume, equipment and production methods in place, as well as, adjusted for future changes in production.
• Sustain a robust food safety culture and systems to ensure AMCHO production remains organic, fair trade, kosher, HACCP and FSSC certified.
• Co-develop a preventative maintenance program that ensures machine conditions, as well as, up time.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team on diagnosing and repairing any breakdowns.
• Lead the assessment and recommendations for any hardware, equipment and facilities upgrades.

• Has 10+ year experience manufacturing chocolate, including bean-to-bar experience
• Has identified and fostered relationships with strategic supply chain partners, farmers and/or food manufacturers a plus.

• Might even be a bit of a misfit.
• Must speak fluent Chocolate, and proficient French and English.
• Experience in Africa a plus.
