PATH is seeking a Program Associate to provide administrative and technical support to the implementation of the Diabetes CarePak project in Mali. The project focuses on developing a human-centered “co-packaging” solution that increases access to safe administration of insulin and self-care for people living with diabetes by bundling supplies. Key activities in this project include human-centered design of the CarePak, stakeholder and partner engagement, business case development, and implementation/operations.

The Program Associate will report to the PATH Mali CarePak Senior Program Officer with dotted line reporting to the Dakar-based Program Manager and the Global CarePak Responsible Project Manager (RPM) in Non-Communicable Diseases Team at PATH. The individual will work regularly with the PATH Global NCD team, the PATH Senegal team, the funder, Mali Ministry of Health, selected Provincial Health Directorates and Provincial Health Services, district leadership, and other NCD local partners to support smooth implementation of the Diabetes CarePak project.

Technical Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Diabetes CarePak Senior Program Officer in Mali and the regional team in Senegal, external stakeholders and global PATH staff to support the implementation of CarePak project interventions in the identified sites.
• Support the project team and program officer for effective, timely, successful, and impactful implementation of human-centered design workshops with people living with diabetes (PLWD), health care workers, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to data collection for the research and through activities including: conducting a literature/document review, co-leading key informants interviews and focus group discussion with PLWD and health care providers and contributing to stakeholder mapping.
• Assist the Senior program officer on tracking incoming, research and implementation needs, requests from the field and track progress on ongoing
• Assist in developing and monitoring project work plan and timeline, including tracking of various team activities, and completion of project deliverables.
• Contribute to preparing reports and presentations.
• Assist the project lead to liaise with MoH, partners and stakeholders
• Participate in the diabetes CarePak designing and development process based on a human centered design approach
• Provide assistance to the research team to the submission of CarePak protocol to Mali ethics committee (CNESS) and track progress of review and approval.

Administrative Responsibilities
• Coordinate all logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements for meetings, workshops, trainings, and different events.
• Document project activities including workshop reports, travel/trip reports, financial expenditures, interview and workshop notes, and project status updates.
• Maintain appropriate and updated electronic and paper information management systems, including maintenance of project files on shared Box drive.
• Maintain project calendars and travel schedules and coordinate with Dakar-based and Seattle-based project staff for international travel and meetings.
• Make travel arrangements for the project team, including travel advance and settlements, air ticket booking, and vehicle booking.
• Assist the team in holding regular project team meetings and take minutes of the meetings and follow-up with the team members on action points.
• Assist with processing payments, liaising with the Project Administrators (PADMs), and tracking and providing status updates on payments.
• Oversee translation services for French-English project documentation as-needed.
• Assist with completion of administrative forms as required, including travel expenses, procurement request forms, check requests, meal conference forms, etc.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
