Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants, as the case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service:
MINISTRY OF HOMELAND AND SECURITY

Post: Security Officer (Grade I)
Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location: Ministry of Homeland and Security
Qualifications :
Applicants should be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Security Studies obtained from accredited institutions.
Duties
• Providing leadership and coordinating all security matters in the camp;
• Providing safe and security to all residents of the camp and all personnel;
• Conducting training for all security personnel;
• Planning, collecting intelligence, facilitating investigation of crimes in the camp and referral of cases to the police;
• Overseeing the implementation of performance management systems in the security section;
• Preparing and submitting accurate and timely monthly reports on security issues;
• Coordinating and supervising all activities relating to all guards and community policing with a view to reduce crime; and
• Performing any other relevant duties as assigned from time to time.
Note:
Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are
permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PS 19).
