Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants, as the case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service:

Post: Instrumentation Officer (Grade I)
Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location: Ministry of Water and Sanitation
Qualifications
Applicants should be in possession of Bachelor of Science in any of the following fields: Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, obtained from accredited institutions.

Duties:
• Calibrating, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment to maintain their functionality status, quality assurance and quality control;
• Preparing standard operation procedures of all instruments available in the instrumentation laboratory;
• Providing technical support to officers and preparing easy to use guidelines for equipment in the chemistry and microbiology laboratories;
• Supervising technologist and technicians in the instrumentation section of the water quality division to ensure care, health and safety;
• Preparing specifications for instruments, systems and installations;
• Implementing routine checks of laboratory equipment and accessories if in stock and functionality status;
• Maintaining accurate and systematic records of laboratory equipment and accessories if in stock and functionality status; and
• Any other duties that maybe assigned from time to time.
Note:
Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are
permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
