Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants, as the case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service:
MINISTRY OF WATER AND SANITATION
Post: Groundwater Development Officer (Grade I) Salary
Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location : Ministry of Water and Sanitation
Qualifications:
Applicants should be in possession of Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Earth Science, Hydrogeology, Geology, Mathematical Engineering, water Resource Management, Mathematics, Geography and Mechanical Engineering, obtained from accredited institutions.
Duties:
• Carrying out geophysical surveys for borehole construction for large and small scale ground water developments activities;
• Carrying out pumping tests for groundwater assessment development and borehole design and for sustainable groundwater resource usage and appropriate designs;
• Supervising borehole drilling activities and well logging;
• Conducting inventory of all technical equipments used in the section; and
• Carrying out consultancy on groundwater development activities.
Note:
Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
