Job Description

The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking an Intern to help strengthen the region's engagement in air quality and transportation programs by procuring media opportunities, planning, and tracking media buys, and coordinating with media vendors.

Qualified candidates must be attending an accredited college or university while in the position and able to work at the NCTCOG offices in Arlington, Texas. All submittals should include a cover letter summarizing work experience, as well as a current resume.

Ideal candidates must be able to work at least 25hours a week while attending school.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Assisting with media buying and purchase management of advertising, print, event, and outreach items, including tracking of invoices
Providing support for air quality and transportation communication campaigns and creative work
Assisting with media coordination needs and brainstorming new, innovative strategies
Assisting with education and outreach analytics for regional air quality and transportation communications campaigns, and preparing campaign summary reports, proof of performance, and marketing insights
Assisting with planning and creating items for air quality and transportation events and committee meetings
Drafting website, social media, and publication content
Assisting in the development of graphic, visualization and communication elements of the Transportation Department's plans, events, programs, and projects
Serving as a representative of NCTCOG's goals and mission

Desired Skills:

Good interpersonal skills and written communication skills, particularly with regard to email communications
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams; with proficiency in Excel desired
Detail oriented, organized, creative, and possess ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines
Knowledge of Google Analytics and Facebook Business preferred, but not required
General knowledge of survey tools
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
Experience with design software (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) preferred but not required

Required Education & Experience:

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university during employment. Pursuit of a degree in a related field desired.
No work experience required, at least one year of school-related experience preferred

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Compensation:

Minimum of $15.00 per hour
