Senior Linux Administrator
The engineering team at IT22 has an exciting opportunity open for a Senior Linux Engineer. You are joining a team of highly skilled and experienced technologists tasked with maintaining and enhancing their large-scale, globally deployed Linux-based platform.
As a Linux specialist, you ensure the interests of both IT22 and the customer. In this way, you and your colleagues are responsible for ensuring that the service is available 24/7. In addition, you spend time improving processes, monitoring, configuration management, and automating recurring tasks. You do this together with colleagues from different disciplines. You speak with experts from IT22 and provide a clear story and direction for the future of the Linux environments.
This role comes with a huge amount of responsibility and requires someone motivated and driven to deliver the best results possible.
Your Responsibilities:
• Configure the company's products to meet the functional requirements including the configuration of functional areas and technical areas (e.g. integration interfaces, integration maps, web services, transport protocols, etc).
• Troubleshoot and remediate issues impacting the integration, and operations of the infrastructure and systems.
• Ensure high availability of the company’s products, and platforms [24x7x365] including but not limited to messaging, voice, and e-mail gateways, in addition to assessing emergencies, providing analysis, and recommending solutions.
• Write and deploy scripts(playbooks) in different environments to automate day-to-day operations.
• Maintain servers’ configuration, monitoring jobs, and infrastructure documentation across the cloud environment (AWS, Azure, etc).
• Security event monitoring & assessment – Incident response & support and ensure that required logs from security devices and applications are configured & received and regularly monitored.
• Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems.
• Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements.
• Lead and develop best practices for the larger cloud engineering team.
Hard requirements:
• At least 5 years of experience as an Operations / Linux Engineer.
• Linux administration skills (RHEL 6 - 9 preferred)
• Red Hat Satellite Experience
• Red Hat Ansible Experience
• Mastery of the English Language
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Can do attitude
• Willing to learn
• Understand credo: “If you have to do it more than once, automate it”
Soft requirements:
• AWS and/or Azure Experience
• Networking Experience
• Terraform Knowledge
• LDAP and AD (DS / IDM) Knowledge
• Monitoring and Alerting Knowledge
• Jira Knowledge
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar relevant degree.
• Working knowledge of Networking, , Virtualization, Bash Scripting, Terraform, IAC.
• Cloud experience (AWS, AZURE, GCP)
• Programming fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills.
