Job Description
• Devise and use the best sourcing strategies for profitability
• Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business partnerships + developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with vendors
• Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendor offers the best pricing and product quality + compare and evaluate offers from vendors
• Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
• Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
• Meeting with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns.
• Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
• Implementing vendor selection programs to ensure that the best vendors are secured.
• Conducting interviews with new vendors and informing approved vendors of their responsibilities and obligations.
• Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
• Examine and test existing contracts and identify ways to improve them
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
• Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
• Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
• Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
• Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
• Keep a check on availability of products
• Review quality of purchased products
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
• Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
• Establish standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors.
• Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
• Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage
• Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
Must have
• At least 3 years of procurement and purchasing experience preferably in the beauty/cosmetics field
• Previous ecommerce/retail experience
