We are seeking an experienced Linux/IBMi/AIX Migration Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux and UNIX systems administration, with expertise in IBMi and AIX. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in migrating AIX systems to PowerVS.
Job Description
• Design IBMi/AIX/Solaris/Linux. Perform migration of AIX/IBMi servers including modernization, virtualization and Server Consolidation.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux, IBMi, and AIX operating systems and related software.
• Perform software upgrades, security patches, and system tuning to ensure optimal performance and stability.
• Work with virtualization technologies such as PowerVM, KVM, and VMware.
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery solutions and procedures.
• Perform capacity planning and forecasting to ensure that systems have adequate resources to meet future demands.
• Plan and execute migrations from IBMi/AIX to IBM PowerVS.
• Provide technical support to users, including troubleshooting and resolution of system issues.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux and UNIX systems administration.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Working experience of IBM Cloud
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Certifications in Linux, IBMi, and AIX are a plus.
