Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION

Reporting to the Group Vice President, Commercial and Supply Chain, the Business Vice President, Ultra Pure Acid is responsible for the overall growth and profitability of our fastest growing business unit.

Chemtrade’s Ultra Pure Acid business is the market leader in North America for ultra high quality sulfuric acid used in the Semiconductor industry. Today Chemtrade’s UPA business is roughly $40M in Revenue and with expansion plans underway will take us to well over $100M in the next 1-2 years. With significant investments in the NA semiconductor industry, we are looking for a dynamic leader that can position Chemtrade to maintain the leadership position as the industry grows 4-5X over the next 10 years and move the business to >$200M.

The Business VP will lead and manage the Ultra pure commercial team and a cross-functional team to ensure financial goals are well defined and then met on an annual basis. The role includes managing all aspects of sales, marketing, pricing strategy, customer experience and market selection. The VP works closely with the directors of manufacturing, quality, and finance to develop and execute annual plans. With 3 existing plants and capital going into expansions, technology upgrades, and a joint venture build, this is an exciting and fast paced growth business for a dynamic leader.

What You Need To Be Successful
• Batchelors' Degree is required
• MBA would be considered an asset
• Proven track record of leading business to deliver organic and profitable growth preferably in the electronic chemicals space
• Proven success at building relationships with customers at the highest level
• Proven success at building relationships levels throughout the value chain (customers' customer, industry forums, key partnerships, etc)
• Understanding of sound financial analysis in order to know how to grow business
• Proven track record of building high performance teams
• P&L Management
• Experience building a team to penetrate a fast growing market
• Speciality chemical experience across North America

Key Responsibilities
• Profit and Loss (P&L) Accountability: Drive profitable growth / free cash generation for the Ultra Pure Acid business by:
• Developing, executing and monitoring the initiatives necessary to maximize the growth and profitability of the business, without compromising the long-term strategic objectives of the business;
• Ongoing interaction with all areas of the business, characterized by challenging, prioritizing, improving actions/initiatives in any area. This includes sales strategy and pricing, supply chain strategy and sourcing cost, plant operating assumptions, turnaround timing/frequency/scope, logistics channels, staffing levels, sustenance and growth capital plans, etc.;
• Critically evaluating sub-sets of the business to determine individual (e.g., manufacturing plant, supply source) growth opportunities or future viability and implementing initiatives to execute on the growth initiatives
• Negotiate key contracts for business to ensure the business needs are met while mitigating risk
• Provide Monthly and quarterly reporting to the Senior Leadership Team.
• Partner/Customer Relationship Management:
• Engage and manage the senior level relationships with key external partners (customers, key semiconductor OEMs and suppliers as appropriate), and also across various levels and functional groups within Chemtrade.
• Own the customer and market intelligence for semiconductor markets.
• Own customer selection and pricing levels for semiconductor markets.
• Drive increased Customer Experience, On time delivery, and “in control” quality
• Annual Plan Development & Financial Reporting: Develop the annual Plan and executing on its objectives by:
• Responsible for developing and managing the planning numbers proactively for business, including sales, logistics, purchasing, and operations including period and capital costs; understanding and helping to develop the key initiatives and risks inherent in each area and developing stretch goals where appropriate;
• Developing and using key metrics to help monitor success;
• Monitoring the key initiatives needed to deliver on the Plan;
• Reporting on the results, variances, and status of key initiatives and key risks; and
• Forecasting business results throughout the year by continually monitoring trends and known variances
• Strategic Direction & Business Growth:
• * Develop 3-5 year growth plans, marketing plans and longer investment plans for
• Develop, and then be responsible for delivering on, the strategic direction of the business
• Develop the metrics to monitor progress, and be responsible for meeting metrics developed
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend organic growth opportunities, as well as tuck-in acquisition opportunities
• Explore business model opportunities and differentiated services to capture more value and growth
• Work closely with Manufacturing VP on driving reliability and technology upgrades
• Leadership:
• Lead directly a cohesive team of capable commercial / business professionals as well as larger cross functional teams .
• Build team morale, clarity, independence and capability within and across functions.
• Align resources to achieve both organizational capabilities and commercial delivery.
• Coach and develop each individual performers using HR systems to drive competencies and career development.
• Work in a professional, multidisciplinary team as a group leader, facilitator or participant to find solutions to complex issues.
• Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders in both Chemtrade as well as external markets and customers.

Location: Home baesd within Canada or the US with travel requirements
