We are looking for a Group Controller for Daikin Europe in Brussels to help us safeguard and manage our profitability and to provide insight on where to propose countermeasure actions.
About us
Daikin Europe N.V. is the EMEA headquarters of the Japanese company, Daikin Industries Ltd. We design, manufacture and distribute air conditioning and heating systems for commercial, residential and industrial applications. Our headquarters are located in Brussels and Ostend, but through our sales networks, we also have a presence throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
We are the market leader in the HVAC industry, thanks to our highly motivated and dedicated workforce, who continue to be our greatest asset.
The Corporate Planning department, located in Brussels, consists of several sections: Group Controlling, Daikin Europe Controlling, Internal Controlling, Corporate Communication and Business Analytics. These sections together coordinate the budget-making and execution for Daikin in the entire EMEA region (turnover of approximately 4 billion EUR).
The department is responsible for drilling down the strategy into annual budgets and realizing the group targets. This is done in cooperation with all sales and manufacturing entities. As a backbone for group-wide reporting, the department takes care of the management of the sales-, margin-, and pricing data, as well as collecting and reporting market intelligence.
Furthermore, the department is also in charge of the development and implementation of corporate governance and internal controls in the group (e.g. J-SOx and system access).
About the role
You will be actively involved in the budgeting and following-up on results of the entity (Daikin Group, DENV or HQ), working together with sales affiliates, factories, and also HQ departments (eg Sales Business Units, Supply, R&D planning, HR planning). Aside from day-to-day tasks, you will be involved in other projects such as the roll-out of a new budgeting tool, pricing, reporting on profitability per segment, headcount classification, and the setting up of automated reporting.
You will also report and present results regularly to top management.
About you
You have a Master’s degree and around a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a similar role as a controller or in an analytical position, preferably in auditing. You have an analytical mindset and love to dig deeper into the details.
You have the confidence to present to top management and articulate your ideas clearly. You have professional proficiency in English (knowledge of other European languages can be an asset).
Above all, your Excel knowledge is over the top.
