We are looking for a Trade Operations Leader to be responsible for mitigating customs and compliance risks of Cytiva import and export processes; adapting to regulations changes; actively participating and executing in cross functional projects in line with trade compliance strategy and objectives in European countries.

The working location would depend on the location of the candidate but preferably in Belgium or the Netherland. This position may require that you are up for occasional travel to other Cytiva facilities domestically and internationally.

What you’ll do
• Ensure trade compliance rules and regulations are met
• Liaise with Customs authorities and timely address requests
• Support Cytiva trade team by coordinating import/export process in close cooperation with logistics
• Manage trade compliance risks and issues to ensure all aspects of duty management and compliance are appropriately controlled and prioritized.
• Interacting with suppliers and partners to ensure operational compliance
• Support with the maintenance of trade metrics, internal self-audits & processes to ensure adherence to customs & import/export requirements
• Monitor Agent Performance and lead process improvements
• Perform internal audits of the 3rd party agents' processes that impact compliance activities
• Work with Business Partners to identify and implement process improvements, support cross functional business projects
• Create and publish training materials for Business Partners
• Work with business partners to enroll in Trusted Trader programs as applicable (ex. AEO)
• Identify Regional and Site level risks; create and execute audit plans and procedures to mitigate risks
• Influence stakeholder groups to assist in reducing any Trade Compliance risk

Who you are
• Bachelor’s degree in international trade, Logistics, Supply Chain or related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of global experience in international trade compliance
• Solid understanding of the principles of Customs Duty and Trade Compliance as applied both internationally (customs valuation, incoterms, license and permits, country of origin, HTS classifications, duty optimization / Free Trade Agreements etc.)
• Depth of knowledge of trade compliance issues/opportunities faced by a multinational manufacturing/distribution business with a complex supply chain
• Proficient in ERP and MS Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
• Solid communication and analytical skills, including experience with communicating with others from different countries and cultures
• Proven ability to build rapport at all levels within the organization
• Proven ability to execute on instructions and multi-task to deliver on targets
• Lean thinking and project management knowledge
• Willing to travel internationally up to 15% of time
• English and Dutch communication skills both verbal and written are required
