The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a Project Manager to join our team, reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager on the Global Data & Insights team in the Technology Department. The role of the team is to support Wikimedia Foundation staff, leadership and board in using social data and analytics to learn from their work and improve decisions. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for organizing and scoping various data projects and shepherding them from inception to completion. You will help set project management standards for the Global Data & Insights team and play an integral role in project planning, scheduling, facilitating meetings, managing workload within the GDI team and with other teams, resourcing, and reporting for key data initiatives at the Wikimedia Foundation.
Open to candidates globally in timezones UTC+4-UTC-6. This is a full-time contract for 4+ months.
You are responsible for:
• Establishing and documenting new project management standards for the Global Data & Insights team.
• Facilitating a shared understanding of objectives and key results across diverse sets of data projects.
• Managing tasks and scheduling with several data-related projects simultaneously.
• Interpreting needs and requirements, translating concepts into practice, identifying process improvement opportunities, quantifying results, and making recommendations to the team for future practices.
• Coordinating meetings, note-taking, briefings, and other activities across the team
