Job Description
Boart Longyear Drilling Services delivers the most effective drilling solutions in a wide variety of formats to clients around the world. Boart Longyear has been established in Laos since 1993, and currently operates more than 20 drilling rigs and employs over 330 employees.
Boart Longyear currently seeks a fulltime and permanent candidate for the position of Senior EHST Advisor based in Laos.
Key Responsibilities
• To support the Asian team, Laos & Indonesia, in understanding and implementing company EHST policy, standards and systems, and fulfilling legal compliance obligations.
• Develop EHST Management plans, implement risk based programs and continually improve EHS performance and actively drive positive safety culture
• Assist operations to manage client EHS expectations.
• Analyse and report EHS performance data and identify risk trends and improvement opportunities.
• Provide direction, coaching and mentoring to the EHST Asia Team and Operational Management in all EHST aspects, ensuring effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
• Assist and undertake in inspections, audits and corrective actions to ensure compliance for internal and external standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Prior Experience:
• Minimum five years relevant work experience in EHST, preferably within the drilling or mining industry.
• Tertiary education in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent
• Certificate IV inTraining and Assessor
• Experienced working in remote locations, at client sites on a regular basis
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build effective & productive working relationships with stakeholders, clients, statutory authorities & business partners
• Intermediate to advanced computer and English literacy, ability to learn and utilise systems for purposes of capturing information, assessing and communicating.
• Ability to deliver training and coaching at various levels and passionate about employee development
• Experienced in planning and implementing projects and improvements through management of change process to ensure engagement from all relevant parties.
• Knowledge on contemporary drilling rigs, tooling and the hazards/risks
• Lao driving license class B
