POSITION TITLE: Special Education Para - (Middle School)
DAYS PER YEAR: 195 DAYS PER WEEK: 5 HOURS PER DAY: 7.5
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the special education case manager with the classroom supervision of a student. Support the special needs student within the classroom setting. Manage organization, supervision, and daily tasks of the student as dictated by the IEP and /or case manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED: Must be highly qualified as a Para Educator II
a.Complete two years of study at an institution of higher education; or
b.Obtain an associate's degree (or higher) degree; or
c.Meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate through a formal assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics (or when appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness).
PREFERRED: Experience with students with autism.
SALARY RANGE (where applicable): NSS contract
