Can you leave the country on a one year visa?

I got a job offer to work for a year teaching English but I wanted to make sure that I can travel outside of the country without losing my visa.

Yes. You have to check the special re-entry permit box on the departure form at the airport before you depart and give it to the immigration person and show your residence card

You can check the box on your form at the airport when you leave. The best thing is, the line for customs for re-entry is super short. You don't have to stand in line with tourists.
