I'm looking into it too! I think the cost really is up to your program and the type of school. Private schools definitely cost more. National/public schools are a fixed rate - i think around 550,000 yen per year but I don't know if being an international student affects that. It doesn't seem like it so far...

It depends on if you go to a public school (including national) or a private school. And there's a 250000-300000 enrollment fee your first year as well. Depending on your private school, you could end up paying only a little more than public schools or like twice as much. Say you pay about 800,000 your first year at a public school with enrollment fees. You could be paying more than 1,600,000 at a private school. The scholarships help A LOT. I would know!
