A 3D action adventure game where you battle an evil that wants to eradicate sushi from the world. The protagonist is a man crazy for sushi, he will literally die if he doesn’t eat sushi.

On a regular day that he enjoys sushi, they start disappearing from in front of him. Suddenly, a talking floating sparkling tuna sushi appears before him.

Introducing itself as “The Great Sushi Will”, it sends the man on the greatest of missions - saving sushi.

The gameplay is simple enough, traversing the 3D world and collecting sushi in the different stages. Each stage has its own goal, collecting a certain amount of sushi, specific types of sushi, or completing the mission. You receive a “Sushi Soul” when you complete a stage, and require a certain number of them to unlock new stages.

Adding to the ridiculous plot and fun gameplay is the brilliant voice acting that adds to the absurdity of it all. The protagonist goes about shouting his love of sushi, proclaiming how “I’ll die if I don’t eat sushi”, “Sushi is soooooooooooooo good!” which adds to the hilarity of it.
The original Japanese only game is available on Kusoi Site, or get the paid English and other languages version on Steam for only 410 yen.

“If I Don’t Eat Sushi, I Die!” is an indie action game by game developer Kusoi Site whose other games include horror games PIEN and Paon, a shooting game where you rescue muscular men trapped in the ceiling of a gymnasium, and a horror virtual idol game called Oshiiro. A variety of browser games, some specifically for smartphones, are also available.

The Steam and Nintendo Switch games are available in English or additional languages. Sequel Game!!

That’s right! Tadasumen has decided to make a sequel to his popular sushi or die game!
The plan is to make it a bigger game than the prequel, with more stages, a deeper storyline (really?), and new elements while maintaining the characteristics of a “surreal world & simple 3D action” game that the previous title was famous for.
To get help for the sequel project, Tadasumen started a crowdfunding campaign and achieved 166% the goal! Looks like we’re getting a sequel!
