Why Major in Caregiving?

It is estimated that there will be a shortage of about 300,000 nursing care workers in Japan, where the population is rapidly aging, by 2025; thus it’s one industry whose needs will continue to grow in the future. Interest in caregiving is growing among foreign nationals who want to work in Japan, especially as it’s an industry unaffected by Japan’s economic condition. Even during the pandemic, the demand for care workers was very high.

By passing the national qualification of “Certified Care Worker”, you can get the status of residence of “Care Worker”that carries the perk of being able to be renewed as many times as you would like.

Strengths of Matsuyama Gakuen College of Welfare

First, the “part-time introduction system” is quite unique for vocational schools. As a school with a long history, we have deep ties with the local community, and we have 115 nursing care training contract facilities, so we introduce jobs to all students who want a part-time job.

In addition, Chiba Prefecture - where Matsuyama College of Welfare is located - lends tuition funds to students aiming to become care workers, lowering financial hurdles to enrollment.

In terms of location, it takes about 8 minutes by train from the nearest station to Tokyo, so access to the city is outstanding. Yet the rent is cheaper than in Tokyo, so it is recommended for those who want to balance living expenses and convenience.

Because of the high ratio of international students, everyone helps each other, and the cozy at-home atmosphere where you can consult someone individually about any issues is also a perk.

Lastly

Matsuyama College of Welfare also has a history of more than 30 years and has produced many care workers who’ve come from overseas. All the current students are international students from various countries, and they are all studying and helping each other. The school also puts a lot of effort into supporting these international students.

As mentioned above, the school also runs a Japanese language school called Miyabi International Academy, and there’s a course to study Japanese there for a year before enrolling in vocational school.

In the near future, even in your home country, the need for care workers will rise as the population ages. You may already have a plan to run a nursing care facility in your home country using the knowledge of caregiving you obtained in Japan. The nursing care industry will only increase in need.

The school is a recommended environment to learn the newest information in the field in Japan. If you are interested in more details about the school, please check the website below.
