If you can manage Japanese, lots of big supermarkets have them! Aeon, Daiei, Seiyu etc etc. If not, Bio Marche is a great English option!!

There are some shops that take furugi (old clothes). Some thrift shops are picky about brands and quality though so I would check. If you want to throw away, you have to check which days they take old...

How about yakisoba or udon? Or the easiest - somen!! Noodle dishes are most simple and the best! My kids love them.
